Dublin - love it or hate it
When I came to Dublin 2 years ago, I didn't know Ireland at all. I only knew the excited reports of friends and aquaintances, who fell in love with the "Green island". Right from the start, Dublin welcomed me with rain. It rained the whole summer and made it even harder for me to feel at home in this city. So it took me almost a year, before I finally didn't find Dublin horrible anymore, but somewhat okay. We are still no friends - Dublin and I - but we respect each other.

San Francisco in pictures
San Francisco is an impressive city. It has almost 1 million inhabitants - so it can be called big - but still, it appears to be very cosy and small at times - similar to Berlin.

San Francisco is situated on hills, that are so steep that sometimes you really wonder how a car should be able to climb them. The local cabs proove: It is possible. The cable cars make it up the hills as well - unfortunately they are mostly overcrowded so that you hardly ever have a chance for a ride.
Then, rather walk or rideyour bike, if you have the muscles for that, because then you discover the city the best.
The first aquaintance you probably will have ist the BART, the Bay Area Rapid Transit, that takes you from the airport to the city centre. Once you arrived in the city centre, you can easily discover San Francisco by foot or bicycle.
One of the city's main attractions are probably the sea lions. It is really cool to watch them lying around, lazy, on the docks and sun bathing!
It is also exquisite to take a walk on this landing stage, that offers a beautiful view on the sea and spoils you with a lot of sun.
Once you have stocked up enough on sea breeze, you can jump right into the city turmoil, where old and new alternate in an interesting way.
This is the entrance to China Town. Subsequently you'll find some impressions from this colorful area of San Francisco.
The Golden Gate Bridge should not be left out, when visiting San Francisco. It is a nice cycle tour to ride over the bridge and after having crossed it, to ride on to Sausalito.

Smögen - ein pittoreskes Badeörtchen im Skagerrak
Smögen ist ein kleiner Ort, gelegen auf der gleichnamigen Insel an der Westküste Schwedens. Heute ist Schweden besonders bei Badegästen beliebt, die den Sommer an der Schärenküste und in den Naturbädern verbringen.
Besonders sehenswert sind die Granitfelsen oder Schären, die von Wind und Wetter abgerundet wunderschöne Formen bilden und in denen sich neue Biotope bilden. Ein fast 1km langer Holzsteg windet sich entlang der Felswände, und man kann über die Felsen wandern und die atemberaubend schöne Sicht genießen.
In den vielen kleinen Ecken und Schluchten, die sich natürlich zwischen den Felsen bilden, wachsen wunderschöne Blumen oder bilden sich Miniaturseen, die Fröschen und Pflanzen Heimat bieten.
In der Vorsaison sind noch keine Badegäste anwesend, aber überall werden schon die Häuserfassaden auf Vordermann gebracht und die Terrassen der Cafés begrünt.

Edinburgh
Edinburgh ist ein nettes kleines Städtchen, das sehr zum Verweilen einlädt. Es hat etwa 450 000 Einwohner und ist sehr sympathisch, mit vielen netten kleinen Cafés und Restaurants, in denen sogar Vegetarier oder Veganer wie ich etwas leckeres zu Essen finden.
